We had a superb stay at Hause Hall.The location is simply stunning- with breath- taking mountain views, providing the perfect backdrop for a relaxing and memorable holiday. The house, barn and stable are spacious and beautifully presented. It is the ideal venue for a celebratory gathering. A special mention to Christine, who is a spectacular host- always available to answer questions-incredibly informative and who made us feel very well – looked after from start to finish.. We would highly recommend Hause Hall to anyone looking for a hidden, magical retreat in the Lake District. We look forward to returning!

It was lovely and relaxing in the Oak Retreat. The peace and quiet needed, but also stunning view. Close by to amazing hikes, also went to Ullswater close by for some canoeing. I will treasure this holiday. 40 mins drive to the Seathwaite farm and climbed scafell pike. It was lovely to return to the hut for evening barbecue and relaxing by the outdoor fire. Little cute sheep nearby, everything was so lovely. I wanted to get my paints out and paint. Next time I know to take my painting kit with me for some peaceful painting outdoors.

We had a fantastic 5 night stay at this wonderful shepherd’s hut (Hawthorn Retreat) and thoroughly enjoyed every moment of our time here. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that a great deal of thought and care has gone into creating such a welcoming and comfortable retreat.

The hut is beautifully presented, exceptionally clean, and equipped with everything you could possibly need for a relaxing stay. We particularly appreciated all the thoughtful welcome touches, which made us feel at home straight away and added a real personal touch to our visit.

The peaceful setting provided the perfect base for exploring the stunning Lake District, and it was always a pleasure to return after a day out to such a cosy and well-appointed accommodation.

We genuinely couldn’t have asked for more and have been extremely impressed with both the quality of the facilities and the attention to detail throughout. We will certainly be looking to return in the future and would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending this shepherd’s hut to anyone looking for a peaceful, high-quality getaway in the Lake District.

Was a great little hut to stay in for a couple days, next to everything you need for the stay is there for you already, gets hot in there at times but opening a window and letting air in sorts out the problem right away

This is one of those places you’re reluctant to leave a review as you want to keep it a secret. However, I feel that the owners deserve to be praised and as an AirBnb superhost I know how important positive reviews can be. We had an unforgettable time here. The property is outstanding – full of character and charm. Our partly of 19 all had ensuite facilities which is very difficult to find in a period property. All was clean and the kitchen very well supplied with ample, quality equipment. Grounds were beautiful and well maintained. We will be returning as a family group some time in the not too distant future.

We just want to say thank you for a lovely stay in a lovely spot. Maple Retreat was comfortable, peaceful & everything we hoped it would be for a slow weekend. Arriving to find the local produce was a lovely extra surprise too & much appreciated, especially after a long drive. The damson jam was excellent in granola bowls, our favourite breakfast. We enjoyed the barbecue, fire pit, and extra cold fridge! the foldaway bed, which made the space feel so much bigger through the day, & of course the views through the Woodland & across the fields. We spotted plenty of hares, lots of birds, a rare deer & a surprise frog! The short walk into the village was also ideal, especially to have amenities like the local pub & the Old Village Bakery just on the doorstep. It was the perfect balance of quiet seclusion & easy access amenities. All in all we would absolutely recommend the Maple Retreat & the wider Rowley Estates to anyone looking for a luxury staycation.

We had a great time. Accommodation was perfect for what my dog and I wanted. Communication from before I even booked was extremely helpful as was information on what’s on in the area before we came. It even meant my hubby joined us for a day! The welcome breakfast bundle was a beautiful touch. This was the perfect base to what we had planned for our weekend. We will definitely be back
