Another excellent hut in a tranquil, riverside location. It was a pleasure to retreat here, slightly away from the other buildings (which we also rented for wedding guests) which provided a peaceful opportunity to tuck into the delicious treats from the hamper!

What a luxurious cabin! Such a tranquil setting, with zero light pollution and the only sound being the babbling brook below. It was the perfect place to spend a quiet evening, and the welcome hamper treats were appreciated!

We had an amazing time at the castle being with family with plenty of space and things to do. Would recommend to anyone for the high quality of the accommodation and the fact that the owners and workers did so much to make our stay perfect meeting our needs.

Amazing stay at the Rowan Retreat and couldn’t have asked for more! The place was spotless, really peaceful and beautifully done. Check-in was straightforward with plenty of thoughtful touches like locally sourced breakfast bits and loads of useful info on walks and things to do nearby. A perfect base for the Lakes, I’ll definitely be back!

Booked as a lady solo traveller. Communication great from the start…a lot of details with regards to parking, finding the hut etc…found everything easily. There are 3 huts in total, I stayed in The Hawthorn, which was the second hut along. I only seen another person the last day of my stay…it is very peaceful (apart from noisy cows in the morning)! lots of outdoor space. Hut itself has everything you need. On arrival I found fresh bread, butter, cereal, eggs, & jam, tea bags & coffee. They do leave apple juice & milk but I had let the owner know I didn’t drink either so there would be no waste. Bed very comfy…Bathroom has shampoo, conditioner, body wash & soap all looked good quality but again I never used as I took my own. There are towels provided too. I was offered an earlier check in & also a later check out, which was lovely! Felt safe & would recommend.

Great facility that we rented, already planning to go back next year

We had our Wedding at Blencowe Hall and it was the most perfect venue and location for our special day. We spent the whole weekend there together with our 20 guests. We made use of all the communal areas and we loved the cosy feel to it. The outdoor space was picturesque. We had a lovely time on the Sunday having a BBQ and playing lawn games. Joanne and Christine were so welcoming and nothing was too much to ask. We used Choice Catering for our wedding breakfast and it was lovely! Highly recommend
