Blencowe Hall is a luxurious and unique property. It is set in a wonderful location and certainly has the wow factor. The toiletries provided and the bed linen was high end and reflected the sumptuous property. Christine, the owner, answers any query almost instantly, and the cost is so reasonable when you consider you are renting a castle that has been modernised so creatively. Not surprising it has won so many awards. If you are looking for a place of this size to rent, in this area, then look no more – nothing could beat this. Don’t let me start in the beautifully kept garden, the views and the generous welcome pack of high end locally sourced produce!

Great location and a beautiful house, restored to a very high standard with good quality accommodation throughout. Kitchen very well stocked, with every utensil you might need. And it was great to have an Aga. Great attention to detail from the hosts, from the toiletries in the bathrooms to the generous collection of umbrellas in the boot room. Would certainly love to make a return visit.

We have just returned from Blencowe where we celebrated my (early!) 60th birthday, the party was made up of 4 generations aged from 1 to 83. We first saw Blencowe 10 years ago and since then have been lucky to stay in several of The Rowley Estates properties but have always wanted to stay at Blencowe. We were not disappointed! For everyone apart from us the venue was a surprise right until the moment we arrived. It was beautifully presented, immaculately clean and was even more stunning than we dared dream. The service from Christine from booking to leaving was personal, you feel that you matter to them and quite honestly I wouldn’t use anyone else for holidays in Cumbria, in fact we return to Elk Cottage later this year and stayed at Todd Hills in October last year. Dinner on Saturday night was provided by the amazing Lynn Hilditch and we cannot recommend her highly enough, everyone loved it. This was the most amazing weekend ever, thank you all so much.

Our stay after Xmas and over new year was a lovely end to 2022. The facilities are outstanding with luxury bedding, beautiful bathrooms and the most impressively equipped kitchen. It rained for most of our stay meaning we spent more time indoors than intended but we were not left wanting for anything. Small details like board games, books, luxury toiletries for a bath and a pool table kept us all well entertained and the utility room meant I could get ahead of the washing before returning home. It really is a home from home. We will definitely be returning this year and look forward to experiencing other venues in the group of properties.

Absolute perfection- we stayed at Stag cottage for my mums 60th and we were blown away by how lovely it was. Christine & her team have thought of everything – the welcome hamper is such a nice touch with all local produce- delicious (which we ended up buying more of – great advertisement) dog treats were a cute touch too. The cottage is so well equipped – we love cooking and were very impressed with what is available to use in the kitchen. The beds are soo comfy, and we loved the products in the bathrooms- we also bought these! The log fire & lounge is super cosy too. We all didn’t want to go home! Absolutely amazing stay. We did Monday -Wednesday and we couldn’t fault it! Really good price for what it is. Everything we needed was in the lodge and the hosts were more than happy to help with any questions or queries, communication was fab! 10000% recommend!!!
