- Sleeps: 2
Find tranquility in nature at The Hawthorn Retreat set at the edge of the Petteril valley
This riverside retreat at Blencowe Hall within The Rowley Estates is idyllic. Bluebells, red squirrels, songbirds. The turning of the seasons as colours shift in dappled light. At night the moon rises through laced branches of blackthorn and oak and the owls hoot.
It’s so magical we want to offer you a way to linger here. Our shepherds’ huts give you a simple break in the heart of the wilderness with a flourish of The Rowley Estates luxury.
When you park at Blencowe Hall or arrange a collection at Penrith train station a short journey away, your adventure begins. Head on foot through the fields and find your glamping haven. Each of the three timber-clad huts are sited in their own secluded spot along the River Petteril.
Your hut is architect-designed to enhance space and comfort. Inside, reconnect with a simpler life. There’s no wi-fi here, so swap stories, play cards by candlelight, relax by the firepit or read by solar power.
Breakfast al fresco or fold down your private oak table
Throw open the french doors onto the sunny deck overlooking the River Petteril for leisurely alfresco breakfasts. Spark the coals for a barbeque on the Weber or light up the fire pit for an evening outdoors. Relax by the river in the Adirondack chairs.
