My husband and I stayed at the Birch Retreat a week ago and it was a fantastic stay. Lovely and cozy, with the fire roaring as it was minus temperatures outside. The shephards hut is located in the middle of a beautiful forest, which added to the cozy asthetic. Perfectly well equipt with everything we needed. Will definitely be coming back to stay again!

We are repeat visitors to Stag Cottage and we have always found it to be a most welcoming and super – cosy place to stay. We visit in November and it is warm and snug throughout with an endless supply of logs for the beautiful wood burning stove .
Six of us and our dog always find the facilities to be exceptional! We are always sad to leave and eager to return.
Melmerby is a gorgeous village with a pub and lovely eatery within walking distance. Both short and longer walks are available through the outstanding local scenery.
Christine and her team go out of their way to be welcoming and attentive, nothing is too much trouble and their welcome hamper plus the information they provide about the cottage and its environment are of the highest standard .
We are already looking forward to our visit next year !

What a great little find this shepherd hut is, tucked away in the woods amongst beautiful surroundings, lovely and peaceful. The shepherds hut was immaculate and had everything we needed, the welcome pack was exceptional. Christine was a fantastic host and communicated all the way up to our stay with local attractions and amenities in the area. Would definitely stay again, thank you again for a wonderful weekend.

I had an amazing time spending a few nights at Maple Retreat! Christine was an excellent host and the space was clean, cozy and had everything I needed to enjoy my stay. The location was so beautiful and waking up to the snowy mountains and grazing sheep felt like a dream! Thank you again Christine!

We had a wonderful family weekend at Hause Hall and would recommend it to others who love wonderful Lakeland countryside, coupled with high quality accommodation. We ranged in ages from 3 years to 70 years and every one of us had a fun and relaxing break. The welcome package was a very thoughtful extra treat.

We had the most wonderful stay in the lovely farmer’s hut during our weekend trip to the Lake District. From the moment we booked, Christine and her team made everything incredibly easy for us, the communication, directions, and thoughtful touches meant we didn’t even need to reach out for help once. Everything was perfectly prepared and beautifully looked after. The hut itself was cosy, spotless, and set in such a peaceful and private spot that it felt like the perfect countryside escape. You can really tell how much care and pride Christine’s team puts into making sure guests feel welcome and comfortable. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay. Highly recommend, and we can’t wait to come back💚

Booked for the weekend for a special birthday and was so pleased we chose here. The property was gorgeous and so cosy. Host has thought of absolutely everything. Thanks so much for the generous welcome hamper, we loved our trip!

Just returned from a lovely weekend at Gill Beck – 3 couples (‘old’ uni friends). The weather was horrendously windy as we caught the tail end of Storm Claudia however the cottage was welcoming and warm ideal for our party. We were really impressed by the little extra – the welcome basket, toiletries, folder with local walks etc as this shows the owner is invested in guests in our opinion. Great space in front of the fire to warm up and a lovely table to eat together where the ‘cooks’ can be completely involved too. There were logs for when we arrived which were definitely necessary as it was freezing weather however not sure if more are provided and don’t remember reading about this so best to check first. Very comfortable bedrooms all en-suite which is lovely. Great garden to allow dogs out into. Would definitely recommend. We will be back
