Absolutely stunning location, we had our wedding here last month and couldn’t be happier, Joanna was a fantastic help on the day and we both really appreciate how easy you made it to sort out all the flowers, caterers, etc. Definitely going to try and find an excuse to stay here again! We had a great stay in Christine’s shepherd’s hut. The space is really functional and has lovely outdoor areas. Some very thoughtful touches like breakfast and information about what’s on locally, and it was very convenient to the lakes district with lots to do. Would absolutely recommend and stay again.

Lovely, comfortable cottage in stunning countryside. Touches like real bed linen and candles in the dining room added luxury and romance. Lots of local info supplied, which was very useful. Loads to see – local walks, castles, boat trips on Ullswater and sheep/dog demo which was amazing. A wonderful cottage to enjoy for itself and for its access to so many places to see and things to do. We may well return.

Fantastic place to stay. Peaceful and calm – enjoyed watching the sheep with a couple of tea. Fully recommend staying here. Every detail was considered

WOW ……. Where do we start What an absolute wonderful property Christine you’ve gone over and above to make Melmerby Hall so welcoming. The boot room was fantastic space for the dogs. The house had everything we required and more. I cant recommend your property enough. The lakeside products were beautiful and the welcome hamper was an unexpected treat. Nice bedding and pillows Few pieces missing in the jigsaw lol lol Grounds were well maintained. All generous room sizes. – tables sizes were fantastic but really only sits 16 in the kitchen area. 18 could get round the dining room table – But lighting the fire in the dining room set of the properties fire alarm off. All in all a fantastic experience – we’d definitely love to come back – individually or together as a group. Xx

I stayed in this stunning shepherd’s hut with my partner for my birthday, and it truly exceeded all expectations. Nestled in a peaceful corner of Cumbria, not far from the Lake District, the location was both easy to find and wonderfully secluded—perfect for a quiet escape. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that every detail had been thoughtfully considered. The hut itself was beautifully finished and incredibly private, offering a cozy yet spacious atmosphere. The amenities were outstanding—a full kitchen stocked with every tool we could possibly need, plus a great barbecue setup that made cooking outdoors a real treat. We especially appreciated the firewood provided for both the fire pit and barbecue—it made our evenings feel extra special. The welcome pack was another lovely touch, featuring delicious artisanal bread, cereal, tea, and coffee, which made settling in that much more enjoyable. It place felt like a real home away from home, but with the added charm of nature.
