Thank you Christine and team, my husband and I had a wonderful stay at your lovely hut. The views were beautiful, the hut was cosy and warm. All communication with us was excellent and very clear instructions. We would absolutely recommend a stay here. Hopefully one day we’ll be able to return! Thank you.

Such a great place to stay. So many times our group of friends have stayed in large houses which have been cold and not particularly well equipped for large groups (there were 16 of us) but Melmerby Hall exceeded our expectations. All the rooms were lovely, beautiful bathrooms and cosy lounges. The dining room , already laid for us was ideal. All the crockery/cutlery/glassware we could need. The suggested walks and activities were really thoughtful. We also loved the welcome hamper. We loved it so much we’ve rebooked it

Stunning property just outside Melmerby. The house was so cosy and warm, finished really well and to a high standard. A beautiful hamper awaited us on arrival which was a lovely touch. Communication from Christine and Rowley Estates was excellent. Highly recommended.

6 of us + dogs stayed for a long weekend. Probably the best holiday cottage we have ever stayed in. Christine was very helpful through the whole booking process, the cottage was superb inside and very warm & cosy. Beds great, showers hot & powerful & everything thought of. Good pub 1/2 mile away. We will be back!

We had a lovely stay at Todd Hills Farm with all the family, great location, lovely views and ideal space for all of us and the dogs to spend the weekend together. Exactly as it said on the listing and Christine couldn’t have been more helpful. Will definately be looking to book again in the future.

What a lovely cottage that was the epitome of comfort and charm. The property was immaculate, very well-equipped, and managed to feel both spacious and cozy. Comfort and Amenities: The beds were incredibly comfortable, ensuring a restful night’s sleep, and the shower was powerful and refreshing. We appreciated thoughtful touches, such as a generous welcome hamper filled with local produce, which was a delightful surprise. Atmosphere: The interior blended original period features with modern, high-spec facilities, creating a very homely and relaxing environment. Christine provided superb communication before and during our stay and we really appreciated the chance to check out a little later.

Lovely cottage and well stocked kitchen. Really good communication from the host, who was very helpful. Bed was super comfy and the house was warm. We would stay again.

Absolutely loved both of our stays at Oak Retreat over the last year. Will absolutely be back for more walking trips. The cabin is absolutely adorable, immaculately kept, cosy and nicely private without being a pain to get to. It has everything you need for a short trip to the lakes and ambience to spare. The northern lakes and mountain walks are very close with Keswick (and Skiddaw) only a 25 minute drive away. Also only about 1hr down to Windermere & Coniston. Penrith is super accessible for shops and restaurants/takeaway and Greystoke is a very short walk (45 to take the meandering green route) and has a lovely pub with great food. 5 Stars all round, absolutely love this spot and will 100% be back.

We had an incredible 4-day stay in this superb shepherd’s hut in the Lake District. It was the perfect escape from London quiet, secluded, peaceful, with only fields, hills and sheep around. You sleep like a baby. The hut is spotless, well insulated, modern, smartly designed, yet still feels authentic and cosy. The bed is very comfortable and large (king size) and the kitchen has everything you need, even better than at mine. The bathroom is surprisingly luxurious with a great shower (not a crappy mouldy plastic one) and all toiletries you will need. The central heating system is super modern, and we were always warm after our hikes. Christine is a great host: responsive, warm, and so professional. She had the log burner ready for us to light on arrival, a 5 star touch after a cold wet day and a 6-hour drive. Christine also offered early check-in and late checkout. Honestly, this place made our trip. A perfect retreat I can only strongly recommend. Thank you, Christine! Isa & Cat x
